Roberto, Domenico and Mario are bound by their wish to build a future in which the male cultural model distances itself from the concepts of competition and power, and instead bases itself on the richness of emotions and relationships. “Nel cerchio degli uomini” tells the personal and collective stories that emerge from the various activities carried out by their association, starting with the male self-awareness circle but also including discussion groups in schools on gender stereotypes, counselling for men who behave violently, and a Theatre of the Oppressed workshop and play on masculinity, organised by Oliver and involving men from different cultural backgrounds.

The director listens to them with discretion and attempts to capture the sense of their experiences and their investigation into emotions and relationships, and what seems to emerge – tentatively but encouragingly – is a new way of being men and an original quest for awareness and liberty.
